Subcontractors are companies that your team can hire within the competition to provide your company with specific goods or services. Both in the real world and in the UKSDC, engineering subcontractors are the backbone of large projects, allowing prime contractors to tap into specialist knowledge, facilities, and experience.
Your team should keep track of all of the subcontractors that you use in your design, including the costs of their services because you will need to include subcontractor choices and design costs in your team’s presentation. Whilst tracking selected subcontractors and costs might seem a pain, you’ll soon see that it’s better than having to design everything yourself, and it is how industry companies handle specialist design tasks in real life!
