Central London Regional Heat
On 28th November, teams from 8 schools took part in the Regional Heat held at Imperial College London – a heavily oversubscribed event meaning that each company was allocated two constituent teams. Despite the usual technical problems (no wifi at the start being the main one!) all four companies produced exceptional designs over the course of eight hours, as well as presentations of a professional standard.
The quality of each team’s design was so high that if it had been possible we would have invited all four to the National Finals in March. Every company had covered nearly all the points on the RFP and with so much detail that it was almost impossible to pick just one winner. However, rules are rules and it took the judges close to 45 minutes to come to a unanimous decision as the participants waited impatiently for the result.
In the end, Flechtel won and the two schools (Haberdasher Aske’s School for Girls and Sutton Grammar School) will now be competing in the Finals. The team is pictured below.
A huge congratulations once again to all four teams for producing such fantastic designs.
