Columbiat
Background
The name Columbiat derives from the role that the Columbia River played in opening the frontier of the American Pacific Northwest to commerce. Columbiat is anticipated to be equally important in developing commercial opportunities for the space frontier. With major shipment capabilities, including docking ports for IHPCs, Columbiat is an excellent staging post for greater exploration and settlement construction around the other inner planets.
Services
- Mass Driver - For a cost of $1/tonne per m/s delta V, Columbiat's mass driver can send cargo to almost anywhere in the solar system, but may only fire 5 CASSSCs per day due to the high associated power draw
- Consultation on the use of nuclear fusion in Space - For further information, please contact a Technical Adviser
- Cargo Handling - Tracked Cargo may pass through Columbiat for shipment to any part of the solar system and the settlement can handle over 25,000 CASSSCs per hour
- Material Refining - All raw materials from processes such as asteroid mining may be shipped to Columbiat for refining, although costs are double that of the same process on Earth
