OMTC Big Tug Services

A small family company acquired by OMTC, Big Tug Services has gained media fame for providing a niche capability that no one else has.

Big Tug Services provides tug and crane equipment for moving large constructions in space, up to ~200 x 100 x 100m. Constructions are moved at an average velocity of 250m/s and charge $500,000 per day of use.

Ecliptic Disposals

‘Ecliptic Disposals’ transports and disposes of CASSSCs containing unwanted content into the sun*, charging $50,000 per CASSSC to be shipped.

*Note that, due to infrastructure for this service being currently unavailable, CASSSCs will be temporarily stored in the Hadley Rille on the Moon until 2050.

Interorbital Heavy Payload Carriers

Co-owned by private interest groups organised under Horizon Group, IHPC has capitalised on their competitor OMTC’s fixation with space settlement construction, by becoming the new leader in ‘to-airlock’ (door-to-door) deliveries.
IHPC has overtaken OMTC as the dominant force in cargo transportation by building extra-large CASSSC transport ships. This has allowed IHPC’s market share to reach 70% of all cargo transportation, measured by weight, along critical trade routes, in a growing space economy.

Space Standards Institute

Following the 2039 white paper from OMTC about the importance of cargo standardisation in space operations, the SSI was formed by the Foundation Society as a controlling authority for CASSSC compliance.

CASSSCs have internal dimensions of 9m x 4.5m x 4.5m and can be purchased for $10,000 per unit. They weigh 10 metric tonnes when empty, are capable of carrying up to 60 metric tonnes of cargo and can be placed in stacks of up to 13 at a time in 1g environments. They can be made from aluminium or steel and can be fully airtight, pressurised, or climate controlled.
